Federal Budget Briefing - Implications for the Environment and for You
Come along to hear from Nicola Rivers and Natalie Bannister about the potential of the Federal Government budget announcement.
Nicola Rivers, Director of Advocacy & Research, Environmental Justice Australia
Nicola's leads Environmental Justice Australia's advocay on a range of issues such as Victorian climate change and water law, and national biodiversity laws. Prior to joining Environmental Justice Australia, Nicola was a senior lawyer with the Environment Department of Western Australia. Nicola is a Fellow of the Centre for Sustainability Leadership and in her spare time, heads up the Riparian Project, which uses art as a communication tool to raise awareness about river health.
Natalie Bannister, Partner, Hall & Wilcox
Natalie has close to 20 years' experience in property, planning and environment law and has been recognised as a leading Australian lawyer in this area in Doyle's Guide to the Legal Profession. Natalie acts primarily for institutional clients, utility providers, property developers and large companies, her experience includes land contamination including compliance, risk allocation and liability, management and clean-up, and planning advice and compliance. She regularly acts as an advocate before VCAT and at planning panel hearings.
